Another Village is a story that recreates a country, a dream, unfolding across three distinct time periods but flowing through a single soul. As you read, you'll trace the ways creativity builds the future, writing transforms the past, and memory unites time. You'll touch the timelessness of love, loss, and reunion.
 

You will witness the dreams of an idealist teacher at the Dicle Village Institute in the 1950s; the mind of a writer who tried to change fate by putting that teacher's memories into a book in the 1980s; and the journey of a man who, after reading that writer's book in the 2000s, will follow a dream and shape the future with memories of the past.

A country can be reborn in the minds of people who can think creatively.

And then another village, another country, another life… may be possible.

Every story begins with a word, but sometimes that word has been written long before. On stones, tablets, in the margins of a notebook, in dreams, or in a child's imagination...

I wrote Another Village by following the traces of those old words.

Time doesn't flow in a straight line in this story. The past seeps into the present through writing. The future begins with the remembrance of a forgotten name. For remembering not only repairs the past, but also the future.

And when that story is told to you, you become a part of it.
